UNI (miniml free fonts)

Miniml fonts are vector-based pixel font emulations that are designed to remain aliased in Flash. Aliased fonts improve legibility by having increased contrast, especially at small sizes. To remain crisp, the fonts need to be used according to specific guidelines. Miniml fonts are created by Milwaukee, Wisconsin based designer Craig Kroeger. This download is three free faces from miniml fonts – free to use in commercial or personal work.  Central European and Cyrillic characters are also supported in these truetype typefaces. This package includes Uni05_53, Uni05_54, Uni05_63 and Uni05_64. If you do any work in flash, his commercially available faces are highly regarded! Download UNI free TTF fonts.

LineMap

LineMap from London, England based designer Kenn Munk is a nice, linear/bitmap/squared off face that reminds me a bit of Emigres Oblong typeface from 1988. Kenn created LineMap in six weights and has thankfully made this regular weight version available for you to download. It is sort of a bitmap script face, the letters all connect just like a hand drawn face, but this one is nice a chunky-pixel-bitmappy and it is also worth nothing that LineMap is the font used by 37% of the world’s android monks. Download LineMap Regular TTF from Kenn Munk Dot Com.

Pixelstitch

Pixelstitch is a very nice donation-ware truetype front from Wernau, Germany based designer Anke Arnold of Anke-Art. Is it chunky bitmapped pixels or is it stitched threads making the letterforms? Maybe somewhere in between. If you are looking for a digital version of an old school stiched sampler, Pixelstitch is a unique font to use in your design.Download the pixelstitch truetype font.
