I like Brazillian designer Galdino Otten’s design here – Haus Sweet Haus – it’s pretty fun and unique, would be at home in a headline or logo design that calls for legible from afar sans serif sensibility but retains some fun funky quirkyness. Download and enjoy Haus Sweet Haus TTF.

Capture It, from Hungarian based type designer Koczman Balint at Magique Fonts – A rough edged stencil font is always good to have around – and Capture It is just that, BOLD and heavy but still legible. Great for headlines and other display type use – It looks very familiar, maybe from a video game package?  Capture It surely captures the spirit of basic stencil letterforms. From Copenhagen, Denmark based first time font creator Johan Aakerlund comes Comfortaa in Thin, Regular and Bold weights. Johan says “I hope you can use my font – please share it with the world” and that’s what we’re trying to do. Freeway Gothic, a very legible free font from American freeware type designer Tom Oetken. It’s Nice, thick, heavy and bold. It sort of captures the spirit of Font Bureau’s Interstate Bold but is a little more extended with a slightly less polished appeal (to me, that is a good thing – i appreciate a font that isn’t too polished). Surface is from Bruno Herfst at Sauce Design in the Netherlands, a very nice medium weight humanist sans-serif font. Falls somewhere between text and display, very friendly. not too hard – not too soft, just right. Lots of foreign characters and such. Download Surface Medium OTF file.

Lane, from the prolific Apostrophic Labs is supplied in three versions – Narrow, Posh, and Upper. Narrow is just the nice, elegant plain jane none stylized version of this thin face. Posh adds the knockout stroke drop shadow look. Upper adds a funky underlined lower case variant to the mix, with underlined lower case vowels being the only thing different from the narrow version. Hattori Hanzo, a Creative Commons typeface from Moscow Based Roman Shamin is a font that was created for catchy headings and short blocks of text and body copy. It’s nice, clean and legible with lots of international-ability. Download Hattori-Hanzo OTF!
